Via Ferrata Leukerbad Gemmi Daubenhorn Valais Switzerland

Via Ferrata Daubenhorn:

The via ferrata Daubenhorn isthe longest via ferrata in Switzerland. In the years 1997/1998, 216 meters of ladders and more than 2000 meters of steel cable were installed in the steep rock of the Daubenhorn (2941m above sea level).

The via ferrata brings the visitor closer to the unique panorama of the Valais Alps in an impressive way. The approx. 100 meter long natural cave, which is crossed and in which the avalanches thunder down into the valley in winter, is unique. In the upper part of the climb, the visitor has the opportunity to experience the imposing rock face up close again in the Via Konst. This passage can also be bypassed.

Equipment:

Helmet (mandatory), harness and via ferrata set, ie 2 running carabiners   (with automatic locking) and with connecting ropes and with a braking system are necessary!! No vine cords because they tear in a fall. Gloves with a good grip prove to be an additional comfort on the wire ropes and offer protection against injury.
